We believe in enhancing the uniqueness of individuals and families creating a haven that can form friendships and learn from each other. A joyous, and colourful place where children can express their creative, intellectual and physical independence in safe and secure surroundings.

Child Safe Policy

Canterbury Neighbourhood Centre is committed to the protection of all children from all forms of child abuse and demonstrates this commitment through our Child Safe Policy and Procedures.  CNC has a clear set of behavioural expectations of every person in our community, outlined in our Child Safe Code of Conduct

Our commitment to Child Safety is governed the following principles;

  • Taking a preventative, proactive and participatory approach to child safety;
  • Valuing and empower children to participate in decisions which affect their lives;
  • Fostering a culture of openness that supports all persons to safely disclose risks of harm to children
  • Respecting diversity in cultures and child rearing practices while keeping child safety paramount;
  • Engaging only the most suitable people to work with children and have high quality staff and volunteer supervision and professional development;
