Centuries of conflict have indelibly imprinted themselves in our vocabulary & in our literature. We will examine the influence of wars on our language , poems & literary heritage. Handouts are provided.

Readings from ‘Bleak House’

Dickens, the master ventriloquist, tells this story of legal entanglement & personal tragedy through many voices.  We  approach the novel with readings from key scenes, followed by analysis .
